How do you get active?
A little time spend doing incidental exercise everyday can add up to a lot over the week – walking the the shops, work, gardening etc. This can mean a lot for your long term health. Whatever is getting in the way of you being more active, it’s time to do something about it. This week is all about you and putting your health first ladies.

Being active has amazing health benefits!

reduces your risk of getting chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes

helps maintain blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels

builds good mental health (and reduces feelings of anxiety and stress)

3 Simple exercises for home or the office:
1. Knee drives – The can be done standing, taking the leg back and then raising forward with a bent knee. Complete for 30 sec – 1min each leg.
2. Plank – Lie on your tummy, bringing elbows under the shoulders, knees in line with hips. Untuck the toes lifting the knees off the ground. Hold for as long as you can
3. Lying Hip Bridge – Lying on your back with knees bent, place feet on the ground hip width apart. Inhale at the bottom, exhale to lift your hips off the ground, squeezing your bottom.
